About

A career bult on reinvention – and a lens built for complexity

Whether you’re exploring advisory work, interested in having me speak, or reaching out for media purposes—this page will guide you to the right next step.

I entered the NFL as the 252nd pick in the 2006 draft. No guarantees. No expectations. Just a jersey and a long shot.

Over the next decade, I became the New Orleans Saints’ all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns and won a Super Bowl.

But the story isn’t the stats. It’s what I learned along the way: that longevity requires more than talent. It requires discipline, adaptability, and an understanding of how systems shape outcomes.

That experience became the foundation for everything that followed.

The Chapters After the Game

Operator and Investor

During and after my playing career, I spent 7+ years as an arena football owner and operator. I spent 2 years running a hospital system Center for Innovation as Managing Director. Currently, I’m the Managing Partner of Champion Capital, a sports investment firm focused on creating access.

Educator and Coach

I’ve built education programs at Columbia Business School and taught entrepreneurship at the University of New Orleans. I’ve coached executives at Nike, McKinsey, and Jordan Brand. I created the Marques Colston Fellowship at Hofstra University to provide experiential learning for student-athletes.

Advisor and Thought Partner

I’ve advised dozens of ventures across sports, wellness, and technology. I served on the advisory committee for NFL Players Inc., the licensing arm of the NFLPA. I’ve partnered with athletic departments, professional teams, and corporations on strategy, leadership alignment, and sustainability.

Systems Architect

Across each chapter, I’ve built systems—for myself and for others. The work I do now is the synthesis of everything I’ve learned: how to create clarity in complexity, how to align identity with action, and how to make decisions that hold up when conditions change.

Background

I’ve worked across high-performance environments, ownership and investment settings, institutional systems, and emerging sports ecosystems. Each sharpened a different lens.

Creating Separation

Creating Separation is the throughline across everything I’ve done—from professional sports to investing to advisory work.

It’s the idea that real advantage isn’t created by doing more. It’s created by seeing more clearly, aligning faster, and building systems that make high performance repeatable.

Creating Separation means making decisions that hold up when conditions change—because they’re grounded in principle, not reaction.

That’s the lens I bring to every partnership.

Self Mastery

You can’t lead others — or your next chapter — until you learn how to lead yourself

Strategic Positioning

It’s not just who you are — it’s how you show up in the moments that matter

Situational Awareness

The advanatage isn’t just speed — it’s knowing when, where, and why to move

Let’s Work Together

If you’re navigating complexity and looking for a thinking partner with operator-level experience, I’d welcome the conversation.

Creating Separation is a Mindset. Clarity is the Durable Edge.

I work with athletes, founders, and organizations to align who they are with how they operate.
